From Child & Adult Students of Beth Tadeson

Thank you ever so much for what you have taught me over the 10+ years that I have been with you.  I have learned so much and it makes me thankful that I had you as a teacher.  I will take what you have taught me and will continue to expand on it into university and onwards.  You have helped me grow, not just musically, but personally too.
S.B., MYC grad & graduated student
I just wanted to tell you that although I think my progress is still slow, I am having a great time with these pieces now that they seem to make sense to me. OK don’t expect a miracle and next week I will be perfect BUT nevertheless I am getting way more out of this than I expected and that is in part due to your patience and guidance. Thanks.

From Parents of Students of Beth Tadeson

Mrs. Beth truly inspires a love of music and beautifully teaches the joy to be found in the learning!

You can’t be in Mrs. Beth’s music studio without experiencing a friendly, welcoming, family atmosphere. It is a place where you hear lots of light-hearted laughter resulting in fun classes and impressive learning outcomes, without the weight of perfectionism that can easily take hold in music learning and smother the fun that is so important in inspiring a love of music.

For me personally, I believe music learning is a great investment for our kids, not only because of the many benefits of learning music, but also because it teaches discipline and work ethic to meet the challenge of completing practices at home each week. In our experience, this journey has been very challenging but we are slowly coming out on the other side, and seeing the exciting results and the love of music growing in our children.

Perhaps this is the best testimony I can give to Mrs. Beth and her music studio: We promised our son he would not have to continue beyond Grade 1 piano and he has chosen to continue to Grade 2 and beyond largely because he would miss music lessons with Mrs. Beth!!!

Whether you are looking for an activity to share with your child or you would like to introduce your child to the world of music, MYC is the ideal program. For the past seven years, I have been accompanying my children in their musical journey. The MYC program taught by Beth Tadeson has allowed my children to flourish, not only musically, but also socially and, I believe, academically. Fractions make more sense, public speaking becomes less frightening and pride in their own achievements has helped them develop an all-round confidence.

Unlike the piano lessons of old, MYC painlessly integrates “theory” into the lesson structure and students are fully prepared to explore the possibility of writing their first exam well before high-school age. In the group lesson setting, students are often thrilled in class when they experience the effect of everyone playing together to create the sound of just one piano…”why weren’t you playing?” is often asked when, in fact, they all were.

Music lessons require commitment and diligence; through the MYC program with Beth Tadeson you can be sure that your children are being introduced to the world of music under the guidance of someone who loves and understands it.

My three children all enjoyed music lessons under the direction of Mrs. Beth Tadeson in her Music for Young Children Studio. There were many days of fun learning in a class type setting. What we enjoyed most was that moms or dads stayed. It was wonderful to know that when the kids were practicing we, as parents, could know exactly what it was supposed to sound like and correct them, helping them stay on task with understanding. Each of our children took something different away from these classes. We enjoyed the environment of our teacher's home studio as well as the unlimited patience Mrs. Beth displayed as a professional. I would highly recommend Beth Tadeson as a music instructor for anyone looking for a program that not only delivers results, but takes the children to the next level. MYC is the program and Beth Tadeson is the one to teach it.

Over the last 6 years both of my children on different levels have enjoyed the benefits of the MYC program.  The program, while having class structure, is also a flexible, comfortable, and fun environment, allowing them to meet new friends.  My son in particular overcame personal obstacles with Beth Tadeson by his side.  He found motivation to persevere when challenges seemed difficult and impossible to overcome.  He quickly discovered music rarely is a natural talent alone but with it comes hard work and dedication.  Beth Tadeson helped him find within himself the confidence to work hard and always dedicate 100% of himself, trying his best.  He went on to obtain Honours in his piano exams and gained confidence in not only his public piano playing but all aspects of his life.

For the last eight years, my daughter has participated in both the MYC program and private piano lessons with Beth Tadeson. The MYC classes were thoroughly enjoyable and educational for both students and parents and provided a great group learning experience in a comfortable environment. It's not just the children that leave with a better musical understanding, but the parents do too, which certainly facilitates home support during practices. Furthermore, the valuable one-on-one time of private lessons helps build confidence and independence and encourage self-motivation.Beth is very knowledgable and is able to share that knowledge with her students in a fun and effective way, both at the group and individual levels. As a result of the well incorporated theory component of both MYC and private lessons, along with extremely  thorough exam preparations, Beth has helped to build a strong foundation for my daughter that has helped her succeed not only at piano, but in other musical endeavours as well such as joining a children's choir and performing in her school musical. We continue to enjoy our musical journey with Beth Tadeson's Piano Studio and highly recommend this enriching experience to others!

In Praise of the Music for Young Children (MYC) Program

"The philosophy of the Music for Young Children® program is to help children develop the happy habit of learning music. Music for Young Children provides the necessary structure for learning to take place while allowing children the freedom to think. Children are empowered to set goals in their learning while experiencing a playful, positive environment."

Barbara Coloroso, Educator and Author of "Kids Are Worth It!"

"The Music For Young Children Program has to be counted as the dominant force in the musical training of young children in Canada today.  Many of the new students arriving each year in my studio are graduates of Music for Young Children.  They arrive superbly prepared and well-motivated for further study.  MYC teachers have found the right balance.  They successfully blend the pleasure and joy of music making with the rigour of a well-crafted pedagogical progression."
